WILDERNESS VOICE: REDEFINIG MAGA
REDEFINIG MAGA
The operative letter is “A”
for “AGAIN.” It automatically calls for an all-inclusive look into a past
beyond imperialistic tendencies like flexing Military Power, Manufacturing and
Global Economic Dominance. But that past also included modeling a democracy offering
its citizens and so many from abroad freedom of speech, the right to elect and
impeach its public officials, as well as equal legal protection of inalienable
rights: Life, Liberty and Justice FOR ALL!
However, it’s really hard to
ponder and understand: What’s going on or where to turn for answers. It’s even
harder to prioritize and choose what to focus on when media is not only rapid
firing information but being forced to combat intimidation and censorship.
Compound that with all the inhouse fighting among our “Publicly Elected
Officials” trusted to focus on protecting and providing opportunities for a
better future. But beyond finger pointing: What about us? What’s happening to
the operative phrase “We the People of the United
States?”
Yes! America has been moving
toward a dark, erroneous place that has reached a boiling break point that
can’t be ignored. Its military force is currently being challenged and thinly spread
across too many fronts. Its reserves are nearly depleted to a level where
defending its own borders is questionable. And its citizen infrastructure is
divided into so many factions, issues and priorities that gaining momentum in
any direction seems null. But let’s look at the past and realize; we’ve been
here before and somehow survived. Only this time, the stakes are higher and the
game, if you dare call it that, is different. This time the rooster has come to
roost!
However, in 1963, civil rights
leader Malcolm X popularized the saying as "chickens coming home to
roost" depicting how a person's (and nations) past mistakes, bad
decisions, and wrongdoings finally catch up with everything to cause negative
consequences. More relevant, it implies that current national crises, social
conflicts, and international problems are the direct result of earlier U.S.
political decisions, foreign interventions, and systemic issues as those
currently being witnessed; ICE expanding domestic military presence, widespread
camera surveillance and centralization of individual data and so much more. The
only difference between then and now is technology; the process of automizing
industry, managing media information and turning the citizens of humanity into
battery-dependent automatons: Button pushers reacting to having their buttons
pushed as normal for conducting daily business. Harsh? Yes! Inevitable? Maybe!
Hopelessly Helpless? Absolutely Not!
Making America Great Again is not exclusively about an Economic Geopolitical agenda but inclusively about “We! All! The People!” regaining our global position as a pillar modeling the inherent potential of what a true democratic order can still achieve: Milton Friedmans’ ideology that free market capitalism can combine business profits, taxes and unions toward a future targeted at an educational system able to provide early youth work experiences and a hardship safety net as expressed, and implemented, in F.D. Roosevelts’ New Bill of Rights which included a detailed unemployment and welfare system. The question is whether you are willing to look and read between the lines to find the common denominator able to connect with the truth: “We can Make America Great Again.” But presently, it’s beyond a political agenda. It’s an “All Inclusive People’s Movement” aimed at survival. It’s a movement requiring a purging of the many dividing lines, a dramatic shift from debate to a dialog that respectfully embraces compromise, and the determined will to make individual sacrifices and investment toward the need to accept: We are more than American Citizens. We were meant to, and can still be, the Citizens of Humanity that the world needs to see and consider. That’s the redefined “MAGA” that “We The People of the United States” urgently need to unite and reclaim the direction of our future.
