UTOPIA! LET COME! OR RUN!
Spearheaded by a vision where problems
are dialoged and solved in ways for everyone to live in harmony and contentment:
A Utopian society, although easily dismissed as idealistic, is a heaven
on earth pursuit with social, economic, political, and moral commitments for
mutual coexistence. Quite the opposite, spearheaded by the currently viewed
potential of inherent unchecked capitalism: A Dystopian society is a
nightmarish vision of a society characterized by oppression, control, and
widespread suffering under an easily endorsed totalitarian regime where
citizens are monitored and controlled by powerful state entities of
surveillance.
As depicted by the classic literature
of George Orwell's “1984” and Aldous Huxley's “Brave New World”; conformity is
enforced by suppressing individual thought and freedom of speech with severe
restrictions. Lacking guidelines against environmental degradation, even the
natural world gets damaged as growing; citizens feeling trapped and, out of hopeless
despair, led to believe change is impossible. Not true!
Remember
the Garden of Eden (where first man Adam’s needs for companionship gets Eve),
and do entertain a basic simple thought: Everything, especially everyone,
is born with some special uniqueness to be discovered and shared. Consciously
or not, all is intended to play an individual and collective part on the stage
of ever perpetuating existence. Humanities direction, harmoniously
evolving or not, struggles to balance the “we vs I or them” toward a new dawn,
or an encroaching, eroding dusk. So, are we, or should we, be our
brothers’ keeper? Assuming the source and destination of one father,
creator, potter: Don’t be misguided by promoted deceptions and dare say
Indeed.
Other than on those rare occasions,
where come two or more, we evolve and get shot out of woman’s womb alone. But
immediately, from that very 1st breath, we’re traumatized by the
realization of a lonely existence crying out from an innate desperate need for a
coexistence longing to be consoled by that cradle rocking embrace that says
SHHH! You’re not alone!
Thus, we begin to evolve clinging to
that reassuring embrace and embark to experience the assisted journey of exploration
and discovery until. Until that need evolves to birth desire for
self-affirmation: I Am! But that initial need for acceptance and coexistence
remains intact. And the ramifications to do, or to be otherwise, has dramatic,
often underestimated, consequences. As we grow, that initial need is nurtured,
challenged or exploited as an effective means to control or punish – a
tool to foster compliance, conformity, compromise or be broken by the effects
of imposed prolonged isolation.
For sure, because of mounting
disappointments or growing opportunities for alternative compensation, we
learn to mask that innate vulnerability: The Need For Companionship. Lack
of such often leads to some maladapted form of developed mental illness with
narcissistic tendencies that eventually include a variety of addictions. Just
slow down and take a good hard unbiased look at our current social climate. While
not wanting to entertain and admit the growing personal feelings of helpless
hopelessness, fear of tomorrow wants are fueling a desperate need to justify hording
greed. Thus, rather than embrace personal responsibility and
accountability, we tend to play the blame game. And while passing the buck, while
looking the other way, we tell ourselves to just ignore it: It will go away.
But its not going away, is it? Its growing like a distant tsunami destined to
hit everyone with reality: We either change our perspective attitudes to
embrace our innate communal nature or individually perish one by one. And so, For
Utopia! Let Come or Run!
