WILDERNESS VOICE: Your Unalienable Right To Live
Your Unalienable Right To Live
It’s time for the kid in
us to grow up and face the facts! Looking for a freedom and life of one’s
own isn’t quite as sweet as the next war comes and the truth hits home. While being
hard pressed by the daily cost of living paycheck by paycheck putting
national concerns dangerously easy to dismiss: We're simply reaping what has
long been sown. And it’s not about MAGA, ICE or Middle East. While the mounting
body bags are just getting started: It’s about A Constitution that’s
always been selectively inclusive, exclusive, and as we move toward global order,
it’s becoming irrelevant.
Face it! While building
growing systems of preparation; segregated educational programs, limited
employment opportunities smothered in rites of passage, a political arena where
representation goes to the lobbyists with the biggest purse, and a media tool
able to misdirect attention through selective misinformation: America has been breeding
a nation of obedient automatons - temporary useful COGs (swayed by
rewards and punishments) in the mechanical wheels of economic progress.
Darwinism (survival of the fittest) at its best!
Meanwhile, affecting
everything and destined to knock on everyone’s door, the mounting issues: Environmental
(e.g. air pollutants, heat waves, water drought), Labor (becoming
more techno, entrepreneurial, or just plain servitude), Voting Rights
(getting filled with things like who can, can’t, where, and how), Freedom
of Speech (falling under corporate censorship, restrictions and
consequences), Immigration (becoming a matter of who can
financially afford it) War (both home and abroad), A.I.
(becoming the central system of universal surveillance and data collection),
and the beat goes on.
As stated in Marvin Gay’s song, ask: What’s going on!
Mother, there’s too many of you crying. Brother, there’s far too many of you
dying. You know we've got to find a way to bring some lovin' here today.
Fathers, you know we've got to find a way to bring some lovin' here today.
Picket lines and picket signs! Don't punish me with brutality! Talk to me, so
you can see. Oh, what's going on? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5TmORitlKk&list=RDo5TmORitlKk&start_radio=1
Coining the term “imperial
overstretch” to warn “no nation can sustain global military commitments
while neglecting its domestic socio-cultural and economic infrastructure”, many
have tried to stress “A superpower cannot maintain global dominance if
its domestic foundations erode.” While great thinkers have predicted
that “although capitalism provides prosperity and a better way to organize
society, the system contains contradictions such as crises, inequality, and
class struggle.” Even President Eisenhower warned “A nation cannot be both a
global military empire and a healthy democracy without risking internal
strain.” Point: America is in global retreat and domestic decline, until
the land of the free is awake and can see, until her conscience has been found,
we better wake her and ourselves up this time or face the making of another Boston Tea Party
Brewing! No Taxation Without Representation!
This is not time for
finger pointing blame or asking who’s winning. We’re all losing and passing the
bill onto the next generation! It’s time to look at the cost and who is
flipping the bill. Consider the cutbacks (e.g. social services, health care
coverage, education), the switch from loyalty pensions to 401-k pay your own
way, the rising cost of fertilizer on farmer expenses steering the rising cost
of food, and the decay of national infrastructure. While focusing on ICE
targeting brown and idly watching IRS plan specific tax rebates to
dole out debt relief packages to already privileged individuals and
corporations, a big red Bull’s Eye is being painted on the backs of every
citizen. It’s not about just seeking a cease fire abroad. It’s about the need for
a cease fire right here at home. And you might as well start with understanding
