IMMIGRATION 6: “DIM” Spreading a 4 “D” Worldwide Wildfire

 

Citizens of humanity become aware, prepare and beware: Present ICE activity is a key but small part of a bigger game in play.  While withdrawing from its traditional place, America, not necessarily its citizens, is currently contributing to dismantling the role of key organizations committed to global order and mutual coexistence (The U.N., International Criminal Court, Centers for Human Rights and the Paris agreement on Climate Change). Meanwhile, America seems to have been a testing ground to develop a global D.I.M. (Deportation, Immigration, and Migration); A Manifesto with 4 “D” Articles (Declare, Detain, Deport, Dissolve), currently defining who and what will be considered wasteful, harmful and expendable (site1).

Starting with Immigrants and Migrants deemed illegal and/or criminal, people are becoming either part of a magician’s trick (able to make anything disappear and reappear somewhere else) or sacrificial lambs for distant masked executioners with sharpened skills to carry out conscience free death sentences. Point! When individuals are returned to places they’re running from, circumstances like incarceration, persecution, torture and death awaits: International Law considers this a violation of Human Rights. Yet like America using parts of central America as Detention Centers, Europe (the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Poland, Germany, England, Italy, Greece and Spain) is negotiating and using parts of Africa to establish what’s being called Detention Hubs; pivotal points able to swivel detainees into muddy waters where clear standards and guidelines are still being negotiated in ways that international organizations for human rights describe as legal black holes arranged as zones where real-time transparency collapses, recourse to courts and counsel are voided, and oversight accountability becomes jurisdictionally impossible (site 2). Dwell on that and consider; while America using Central America (Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico) for Latinos and Europe using Africa (Rwanda, Uganda, Uzbekistan) for Blacks, just what might be happening to other ethnic detainees? While Minimizing the focus on race and class; doesn’t Maximizing current worldwide geopolitical and economic skirmishes become an interesting, more pressing and all-encompassing alternative to focus on? Especially when we dare decide to connect the dots and consider the First Amendment (Freedom of speech) and what’s happening to present conscientious objectors!

Current conscientious objectors choosing to protest can be local citizens dangerously taking to the streets, journalists forced to write independently, and tv/radio hosts risking their platforms. Unlike local police trained in crowd control, federal agents (Border Patrol, US Marshals, the FBI and especially ICE) get trained in stage-like towns built to practice delivering military tactics with weapons (pepper balls and spray, tear gas, flash bangs, bean bags, rubber bullets ), that have lasting physical and mental impact on community residents (site 3). But what triggered ICE to go Rogue? Wasn’t it Washingtons voice stating federal agents “are allowed to do whatever the hell they want.” So just “How is ICE treating Protesters across the nation” and “why are they using such Extreme Tactics of Repression” that even journalists, reporters, public officials and states against ICE are subject to retaliation. The rising numbers of varied acts against journalists and reporters have reached public concerns warranting sites listing organizations like Prism, The Society of Professional Journalists and The U.S. Press Freedom Tracker documenting, generating resources and reporting incidents leading to legal address.

Citizens of humanity: Let’s go beyond the “D.I.M.” spreading a 4 “D” Worldwide Wildfire eliminating the global tools of legal accountability while promoting the consequences as merely the cost for securing future socio-economic stability. Let’s go beyond the many headlines seemingly meant not to unite but distract, divide and provoke silencing the many voices of reason screaming:  The America’s, Europe and other parts of the world, are playing with sticks of dynamite where the present acts of mothers and fathers “WILL VISIT” their children with an underestimated explosion tomorrow.
