Voices in the wilderness - May Issue
Voices in the
Wilderness
Fellow artists, blessed and
gifted with talents and opportunities to be yet another historic voice in the
wilderness crying out for justice to be made manifest; may our weapons of
choice be sharpened to be heeded and heart felt. May our work’s, howsoever
small but still flickering, become beacons of light against the seemingly
growing social darkness gripping so many with feelings of helpless, hopeless
despair. May our performing platforms serve as battering rams able to shatter
the illusions blinding so many from the truth: We Are One! We are stewards,
co-heirs destined to harvest and share what this world, this planet, this
society still has the potential to offer and make manifest.
For promised better days to come we
need just accept that we are the voices, the hands and feet of a cosmic force
made manifest thru us, for us, just because – because we’re built for more than
present minds and hearts have come to accept. We’ve been granted eyes, ears and
minds to experience what’s beyond the frightening thunder dome of present
times. We are visionaries endowed with the courage to walk through the fires of
being ignored, underestimated, neglected, even persecuted simply because we dare
exist out the box. We’re beyond the propaganda feeding conformity and herd
mentality. Make no mistake: We are voices in the wilderness threatening a contradiction
to misconceptions blasting the human mind with too much misdirecting
information. While such is intended to keep the majority in a state of mental
constipation, BELIEVE! Our crafts, like an enema, have the potential to cause
reasons for many to pause and contemplate alternative perspectives.
Bottom line, being overloaded by the
speeding freight train of present circumstances and conditions is not only causing
massive worldwide indigestion but, across the social board, it’s bringing the levels
of crisis sustainability into question. Do note the recent docu-movie
2073 and Consider! Brain twisting Carl Jung has noted that the
reason for such evil to continue existing in this world is that people are not
being allowed time to tell their story. Analyzing society, Eric Fromm hints
that human destructiveness is the outcome of people existing with unfulfilled lives.
And while trying to address the symptoms, not the cause, the pursuit of
material gain and immediate gratification continues to be the fruitless but unquestioned
and unchecked solution.
Under such conditions and
circumstances, we the artists, through a poem, a song, a painting, a skit of
some sort, etc. can bring matters to a screeching halt long enough for people
to at least relax, ponder, even wonder. Make not the mistake to underestimate,
we are the voices in this present wilderness, able to cry out for truth and
justice to be heard and heartfelt. And do consider that the voices mentioned in
Isa 40:3 and John 1:23 have yet to be silenced regardless of our fallen
predasesors.
