WILDERNESS VOICE: The Sleeping Giant is Awakening with Fire Breathing Dragons

 



The American melting pot is cracked and eroding. The once fragrant scent of “We Stew” brewing for all to sit at the banquet feast and share is now boiling with bursting bubbles of a “Me! Me! Me broth” threatening to burn the faces of anyone willing to come near and dare a sniff.

Remember the market crash and the great depression leading to widespread despair, vise, crime, murder and suicide. Remember how the recent fear of it recurring led to the ill managed bailout of Wall Street and Fany May when the realty bubble and more finally began to burst. And remember what the admiral of the Japanese naval fleet said after pearl harbor? While many celebrated a battle victory, he saw a no-win war coming and sadly said “we have awakened a sleeping giant:” A fire breathing dragon that eventually set Nagasaki and Hiroshima ablaze.

Today that sleeping giant is the working middle class and its fire breathing dragons are the young who, realizing how regardless of preparatory efforts, are facing limited future employment and housing opportunities. Thus, turning to the available tools of technology, the learning “how to” opportunities  being offered by A.I, and the open fields of economics dangling carrots for personal gain, they are not only discarding traditional norms but, whether for profit or mere survival, are exploring entrepreneurial ventures both above and below the new Banquet Feast laid out for blatant capital gain.

Compounded by the federally mandated spread of military presence across the states and abroad, is not dismissal of all the historic warnings bringing Rome’s fate upon us? Meaning: The collapse of an empire is due to Massive external commitments, Internal political decay, Infrastructure neglect, Economic strain, and Loss of civic cohesion giving way to Anarchy: Chaos, Disorder, and Mayhem! We are at an important place in time to realistically ponder a few things. Policing is about protecting business and property not facilitating community harmony. And, because some are seeing the implications and still able to afford it, people are presently leaving this country to become citizens abroad.

Bottomline, the Melting Pot that was once a brewing stew for all to share (rewarding carrots to earn on the production lines while peeling through some occasional tear-jerking onions of experiences; meaty chunks of opportunities waiting to become worth biting while the golden kernels of corn ripen in a bank broth facilitating slices of green peppers to go up in a steam of nightlife fun and games) is now an Awakening Sleeping Giant of Agita with Fire Breathing Dragons for all to fear.

 

The O’Jays said it well in their song where it said: “For The Love of Money” some people wanna do good things, while others wanna do bad things with it. Talk about cash money, where People will steal from their mother, rob their own brother and while never knowing who in the world they're gonna meet, can't even walk the streets. Oh yea for that Mean green, almighty dollar, People will lie, rob, and cheat without care of who they hurt or beat. While carrying a lot of weight, A woman will sell her precious body for that small piece of paper. Money! Root of all evil, does funny things to people and even drive them out of their minds. Oh! Don't let money fool you, don't let money rule you! For that nickel or dime don’t let money change and sell your soul. Listen n Decide
