WILDERNESS VOICE : REAWAKENING NATIONAL AWARENESS

WILDERNESS VOICE REAWAKENING NATIONAL AWARENESS

It’s hard to connect the dots between history, science and current events without wondering: Where is it all coming from and where is it going? Undeniably, the quest for economic conquest financed Columbus, freedom from religious persecution followed to give it some sense of divine destiny, exploitation of indentured servants paved the way to justify slavery, and combined with the thirst for progress and expansion, the practice of genocide made the Native American Indian its first victim.

History records a consistent pattern of growing moral decay. Science, while leaning on the notion that behavior is learned, has hinted there’s a possible, genetic, violent, destructive nature in some human DNA formations. So current events are merely bringing to light what’s been playing in the shadows all along. Like cancer and termites silently working their way to weaken its host’s structural foundation: Individual dignity, sovereignty, accountability and commitment to collective freedom, equality, and protection under a system of governance (elected, trusted and supported) is fading; the mortar that’s held the Declaration of independence and the Constitution together is eroding; and the current use of the Monroe Doctrine is devouring the global image of “These United States of America”, a model for a “More Perfect Union.”

Using Rome as the example, Paul Kennedy (British Historian) coined the term “imperial overstretch” to warn “no nation can sustain global military commitments while neglecting its domestic economic and infrastructural base.” George Kennan (diplomat and historian heading U.S. foreign policy during the Cold War) argued that “internal cohesion, infrastructure, and economic health are prerequisites for sustainable global influence.” Zbigniew Brzezinski (counselor to Lyndon B. Johnson and Security Advisor under Jimmy Carter) stressed “A superpower cannot maintain global dominance if its domestic foundations erode.” In his farewell address, President Eisenhower warned “A nation cannot be both a global military empire and a healthy democracy without risking internal strain.” And in light of all this, predicting capitalism would turn on itself, Karl Marx (German philosopher, social/political theorist, economist, journalist, and revolutionary socialist) argued that although capitalism provides prosperity and a better way to organize society, the system contains contradictions such as crises, inequality, and class struggle in five stages: economic growth of the western world, offshoring of jobs, raising sales via debt, debt defaults, and  Geographical Spread of the Crisis. Ponder: Compounded by federally mandated spread of military presence across the states and abroad, is not dismissal of all these warnings bringing Rome’s fate upon us? The collapse of an empire due to Massive external commitments, Internal political decay, Infrastructure neglect, Economic strain, and Loss of civic cohesion giving way to Anarchy: Chaos, Disorder, and Mayhem! The making of another Boston Tea Party Brewing!

Rather than putting out the fire, isn’t that what the White House is willing to face and gearing up for? Isn’t this what the country inadvertently asked for: A dramatic immediate change over thoughtful well-paced processing? Talking about history, where the original thought of “in God We Trust” tried to steer the country and eventually got inscribed on dollar bills and courtroom walls: has not America done what the Jews did in the book of Samual? After being led from slavery, from desert hardship and were gifted a land of  milk and honey, because of a few moments of hardship, they asked to replace divine direction with a king, a monarchy that eventually warehoused their lands to be managed by loyal nobles and lords, sacrificed their young men on the battlefield, turned their women over to forced labor, and the list goes on. America wanted and got a MAGA swarm, flies laying MAGGOTS (small worm-like organisms with no legs to stand up for what’s right, no arms to reach for the mallet of justice, or eyes to see where we’re heading). Typically found among decaying organic matter, isn’t that what seems to be happening in congress and the supreme court? And mind you, this isn’t new but long brewing. The dragon has just finally reared up its fire breathing head, and the nation is simply beginning to feel the heat.
